7. Day 31: Love Loves Tricks AND Treats!

What a fabulous day to conclude my month of extending love to honesty!  All Hallow’s Eve.  I feel both hallowed by gratitude and hollowed out like a pumpkin after getting up close and personal with honesty.  I kind of hate to admit it hasn’t been as scary as I thought it would be to be honest and to welcome honesty in others.  Before, I was like a kid who’d run up to the door and ring the bell but was too scared to see who answered the door.  I never stayed around long enough to get my candy treasure.  Honesty always answers the door.  It can say yes or no or thank you....

7. Day 30: Judgment Can Come Too

I had a docent training yesterday that left my head spinning.  It went so long I was in traffic I normally miss so got the opportunity to sit quietly with my thoughts on the drive home.  My thoughts were like a group of 5th graders after indulging in the Halloween treats offered at the class party; rowdy, tired, hyped up on sugar and had no way to expend the energy.  Because I am extending honesty this month I tried extending honesty to the moment.  I was tired, bewildered, hungry, confused, yet strangely empowered.  None of this made sense.  I am an art docent at the Crocker Art Museum and...

7. Day 29: Is Your Gratitude Honest?

7. Day 29: Is Your Gratitude Honest?

How does honesty jibe with gratitude?  I have always been a very grateful person.  I notice and give thanks for all I have; family, home, businesses, Love, friends, freedom etc.  But I have not always extended gratitude for pain, or discomfort or apparent lack.  I certainly have not extended gratitude for the pain or terror or loss experienced by those I love.  So how do honesty and gratitude work together? Honesty includes all in gratitude. Gratitude is always honest. In other words, I do not have to choose or figure out or (God forbid) strain to think of something to be grateful for.  I...

7. Day 28: How Can I Include Myself (Right Now)?

I asked Holy Spirit how I can include even the fearful parts of ourselves in the wedding preparations.  No matter how surrounded from within and without by love I am, thoughts of fear or discord or annoyance come up in an attempt to steal the moment from joy. Me:  How best can I include all parts of myself in preparations for the wedding and allow for calm, delight and focused energy? HS:  You set the tone of your doing with your BEING and your intention of being. Dear One, this is a marvelous unconditional practice ground to join in the delight and planning of an event (any event).  Ask...

7. Day 27: Guess Who’s In The Wedding Party?

7. Day 27: Guess Who’s In The Wedding Party?

I found myself sitting at the dining table with my daughter and a dear friend (who also just happens to be a wedding & event planner;) purportedly brainstorming about the wedding but actually getting a crash course in honesty.  Who doesn’t love those early days of planning a big event?  It is a time when dreams run wild and all is possible.  What was different here is that I had also invited honesty.  In myself, in my daughter and in my friend.  I didn’t say “Now, let’s be honest with one another!” but that is exactly what happened.  I was blown away by how...
