12. Day 25: A Crash Course In Feeling(s)

Feeling is another dimension.  It is what is present underneath all that you are thinking, seeing, noticing.  It is that animal of light that shines warmth on your belly and releases a thousand, thousand butterflies into your chest.  This presence of “more” is a live currant running through every cell of your body, not just nerve endings in your fingertips and gut.  Feeling can thrash you, uplift you, transport and transform your experience in less time than the spark of electric charge that the brains sends to say “blink” to your eye. Feeling lets you know wordlessly...

12. Day 23: Who Is Santa’s Helper?

You know the mixed feelings you had when you discovered that your Mom and Dad were, in fact, Santa (or at the stretch “Santa’s helpers”)?  You were glad in your heart, that someone who knew you and loved you were the ones filling the stockings AND you were a teensy bit disappointed that there wasn’t a Jolly Ol’ Man dressed in velvet and ermine scampering around your Christmas tree in the wee hours of Christmas morning.  Well that is a bit how I feel after this Writing Conference.  I found out that “I” am Santa’s helper (or at least the...

12. Day 22: Kindness In Their Eyes

12. Day 22: Kindness In Their Eyes

I have arrived safely in Chicago.  It is chilly here; I had to dig my scarf and gloves out to put on while waiting for the hotel shuttle.  It has been a long day but I have been guided, as directed, by “the kindness in their eyes”.  I simply followed the path to which ever face held the eyes of love.  And do you know what?  No two faces were the same but their eyes told the story of kindness and welcome.  There was the tall, clear eyed young woman in black square glasses and wispy blonde hair who helped me find out where to stand for my connecting flight out of Phoenix.  It...

12. Day 21: Heaven On Earth

12. Day 21: Heaven On Earth

I notice that I use the words thoughts and feelings interchangeably.  Are they the same thing in a different forms? HS:  Dearest One, Feelings are often thoughts you can’t hear or don’t/wont notice.  A feeling will alert you to awareness, the thought can then form more fully and translate into words of guidance, actions or stand-stillness. Feelings, then, are pre-thought.  The more attuned you are to your feelings; notice, listen to, welcome and trust, the more quickly you are open to guidance and direction.  Surrendering to Feeling is not the same thing as being at the mercy of...

12. Day 20: Do You Feel An Opening?

12. Day 20: Do You Feel An Opening?

I asked Holy Spirit about extending love to the fear of feelings and was beginning to wonder if I was making any progress at all. Me:  Am I even dealing with feeling in love this month?  Am I even extending love to my own feelings? HS:  You are accepting in peace the feelings all around you.  In doing this you remain open in welcome to your own feelings.  They are guiding you into the experience of peace and delight you desire. Tired, relaxed, open, questioning, fearful, doubtful, present—these are all feelings. What is it you think you are looking for? Me:  Well, a physical...

12. Day 19: What?! If…….

12. Day 19: What?! If…….

In the middle of  my prayers and affirmations for my time at the Spiritual Writers Conference in Chicago I felt (rather than heard) a ripple of trepidation.  Then I heard this timid gathering of thoughts insisting I listen to the “What if’s?”  (I imagine these to be the students gathering around a teacher’s desk reminding her she promised to let them out early if they were good and quiet.)  To be honest, I didn’t really want to take the time to hear these “negative” thoughts of limitation and fear.  But, since I did commit to noticing and extending...
