What To Do About Violence?

“ANOTHER violent attack, this time in Manchester!??!!!” I hope the person sitting across from me devouring his breakfast croissant couldn’t hear my barely disguised “WTF Holy Spirit!!???!!!!” as I read the news on my phone.  I was glad I had time to sit there and take it in.  I had the time for the shock, the horror, the disbelief and the never-ending “WHY????!!!” to surface one after another until I felt like I was going to throw up.  I asked 20 versions of “What can we DO about this terrible violence??” Somehow “fighting...

12. Day 27: 5 Things To Do When You Experience Spirit-lag

Have you ever noticed this jet laggy sort of experience that happens between when you pray (or ask or set an intention or surrender) and when you feel or see the answer?  I’d call it Spirit-lag but somehow that makes it sound like Spirit is lagging behind me, late or otherwise occupied when it is most likely me who is late or otherwise occupied.  In the geological sense Spirit IS instantaneous, but I am looking through a microscopic tolerance of light.  I make myself laugh sometimes that when I actually manage to remember to ASK within, pray, intend etc that when I don’t see it...

12. Day 21: Heaven On Earth

I notice that I use the words thoughts and feelings interchangeably.  Are they the same thing in a different forms? HS:  Dearest One, Feelings are often thoughts you can’t hear or don’t/wont notice.  A feeling will alert you to awareness, the thought can then form more fully and translate into words of guidance, actions or stand-stillness. Feelings, then, are pre-thought.  The more attuned you are to your feelings; notice, listen to, welcome and trust, the more quickly you are open to guidance and direction.  Surrendering to Feeling is not the same thing as being at the mercy of...

12. Day 15: This Quiet Knows Me

I had a dear friend say to me the other day, “I am relentlessly happy.  All the time now.” It was such a significant departure from the majority of her years dwelling (not living) in the pseudo safety of feeling nothing.  It has been a long and revealing process, this unmasking of her true nature of happiness.  For so long she didn’t, wouldn’t, couldn’t feel happiness.  Couldn’t recognize or trust it.  That is until she did; trust and recognize and claim the deep well of happiness that was always with her but that she had forgotten.  Her laughter bubbles...

12. Day 12: The Wanting

My friend Beth Misner spoke at a Women of Faith Breakfast I held several years ago and said about her often frenetically paced life,  “I decided that I am not busy but that I have a full life with a meaningful schedule”.  That thought really stuck with me and on a deeper level has been working from within me to produce the miraculous change of a similar feeling.  I am not at the mercy of my schedule or even my desires.  I have learned (through continuing daily practice) that my life and schedule are not something happening to me but are a direct response to my connection to my...
