I do not wish to change any decision I have made – and I’ve made some doosies – because then I am not here and now. In a very solid marriage with a partner I adore. I have a wonderful relationship with my daughter which I wasn’t ever sure would happen for various reasons. Do I miss people and wish they were here? Sure. Do I miss Denver? Yep. but I refuse to let those things diminish the moment. Finding my place in a faith based church and anticipating being able to accomplish more advocacy is exciting. The temptation to dwell on the future is an elixir. I work very hard at not letting the loveliness of the here and now be snatched from my grasp for shoulda/woulda/coulda/maybies.
